Hi:
2 years ago had a very bad fall and landed on a cement stair on my butt, actually hit edge of stair just above backside. I am a big girl and had bruising on entire backside and around to front.(Doctor said she had never seen bruising so severe. This has left me with what I affectioneatley call my hump). Over the last few months I have been experiening lower back pain. (In and around my hump) At the same time I am having what feels like muscle pain in my left hip area as well as pain and numbness generating down to my left foot. I cannot flex that foot down without harsh pain going up my leg. My left hand is also giving me increased pain. (over and above normal arthrtis pain)
I did have a stroke 5 years ago which caused damage to my left side. This left the nerves on that side hyper sensative.
OK finally question
Is it possible that when sleeping on my back, the pressure on the hump is pressing on a nerve and causing these problems.
I have put back on some of the weight I had lost recently. So the hump seems more pronounced.
PS Xray showed no arthrtis in the hip!

I strongly suggest you see a neurologist. He/she would be able to give you proper tests and answer all your questions. It sounds like you may need some tests done.
