I have the birth control Mirena, have had it for close to 2 years now. When i had it put it i would get a pain once a month. Its a stabing pain. Even before i had it put in i had a slight pain in that area that never bothered me to worry about anything.

So the pains would come when i was suppose to get my period( i have them every 3-4 months) and would be a stabbing pain on my lower right pelvic area that would migrate to what would seem like my hip socket and also hurt in my lower back. Latey this month it has been hurting every week to last days on and off at a time. It hurt to the point i would buckle over and hold my breath. Lasts about 5-15 secs on and off.

I went to the doctor and had it checked out, No Stds, no lumps or bulges were found. After seeing him i started having a dull pain on my left side simular to the pain/area i was having on my right.Had a bacterial infection which I took a gel for about a week. Now being 3 weeks since ive seen him. Ive had an ultrasound done to check for anything and get the results in a week. This month when me and my hub have sex, it hurts when he puts pressure on my right side.

Whats weird was a few days ago i felt a warm burnign feeling on my left lower pelvic area and noticed i was spotting pink blood when i got home which didnt last long.

Along with all this i been feeling sick ot my stomach alot lately, get clear/spotted/light green discharged that changes.

A nurse told me the Mirena shouldnt cause pain in that area im having, so im so worried right now
Im just worried something serious might be going on or is it all in my head?

Does anyone have any type of sugesstions of what it might be. I know i have and appt in week to get my results

Why not have the IUD removed to see if the pain will go away? You can still use other forms of birth control.

I've had the same issue off and on in the last six years. It had gotten so bad they made the decided to remove my right ovary. In surgery they found a huge mass that fussed onto and around the ovary and was undividable. All was removed! Pain went away and a year later its back hurting again and worst. And they still can't figure it out.......

Is it normal to experience lower pelvic pain mid cycle for about a week? I have been getting it for the last few months.
