I have never had sex or participated in anything close to it, and am just a teenager. I do masturbate on occasion. I have never had any serious or notable medical problems in the past. I recently noticed a lump on the wall of my vagina around the size of a golf ball or a large cherry that is in no way noticeable from the outside. I can push it back against the wall of my vagina a little ways, and this doesn't cause me any pain or soreness, just a bit of slight discomfort, like I'm pushing on something that doesn't want to be pushed. The only kind of consequence you could say that I've "suffered" from because of it is that I get a little sick to my stomach after touching it, but this could very easily just be because of the confusion I feel or just the strangeness of the whole thing. I could swear that it's moved; the first time I discovered it I felt it closer to the opening of my vagina, and the next couple of times I've gone to check it, it has been farther back and may or may not be smaller. The end of it either touches the other wall of my vagina or at least comes close to it, and the end is slightly rough but only vaguely. If anyone has an explanation of what it is, why it is there, if it is serious, and what is needed to get rid of it. If there is a way to treat it without telling my parents and going to the doctor, I would love to hear it, just to save the embarrassment and awkwardness. However, I do understand that I will most likely need to do both. Any contributions to helping me with my concerns are GREATLY appreciated. (In other words... Please help!)

well is it on the side wall next to your labia or on the top? it sounds like it is probably a bartholuin cyst. you can normally relieve thoes yourself. bambie has some good advice on how to do that but i cannot find that post at the moment. have you tried searching on the forum for posts on the topic of Bartholuin cysts?
try that. hope it helps

Hi Alee! What you have is called a Bartholin Cyst it is from a blocked Bartholin Gland. This Gland is bigger than most pores inside the vagina, and can easily get blocked! Most of the time just movement unblocks the gland! BUT sometimes - as in your case, it needs some help! The best thing to do is take a VERY warm bath with about 4 cups of Epsom Salts in the water, and have it just over your thighs, let it soak the area in question. While gently trying to press on the sides of the cysts! Also use a squirt bottle with VERY warm water in it and about 2 tblsps of hydrogen peroxide and everytime you go to the toilet cleanse the area with the mixture and once again press on the sides of the cysts, this SHOULD drain it! NOW if it starts getting harder or pain, and hotness around it, you will need to go to the doctors for them to lance it and give you some antibiotics! You don't want it to become infected and too big! I hope this helps you and just tell your parents that you need to see the doctor about a womans problem! Good luck and health honey!

Bambi, thank you! The idea of actually pressing on the sides of the cyst kind of makes me queasy, but I'll pretty much do anything to fix it. Will it just pop like a zit or what? And I'll check and see if I have Epsom Salts, but if I don't do you know where I can get some? Again, thank you for taking the time to help I appreciate it immensely.

Oh, and also, if I were to try the hydrogen peroxide and warm water solution today since I do know for sure that I have that without first taking an Epsom Salt bath, would that be alright?

Epsom salt you can by at your local drug store, or even the grocery store. And I'm pretty sure if you used the water and hydrogen peroxide first it wouldn't hurt it but if you dont have a head on it or atleast a little opening then it most likely will not phase it at all. The reason for the epsom salt is for it to help bring a head up on the cyst. But bambi is right if you can't do it or it is too hard then you need to get it lanced so you do not get an infection!!!! And do not try to do this on your own and don't let another person try tot do it if it needs to be lanced then go to a professional so you know that they are doing it right and you can have some pain meds while they cut it open. : )

Like Teenmom said any store carries Epsom Salts they are SO cheap! It just really loosens up and draws out the infection! Sometimes it just oozes and other times you feel a pop I just want you to be REALLY careful that it does NOT become infected! As this can be very dangerous NOT to mention painful! The warmer the water the better - for both treatments! As this opens the pores as well! Also know that when you get them, you usually get them again! Just keep the area clean with a shower etc, Another thing I've heard that works - I haven't tried it so I'm not sure, but the mechaniques of it sound fine! Is to insert a tampon the rubbing of the cotton against the pore will unblock it and make it ooze and the tampon will absorb the puss! So you could give that a try and if it works rinse the entire area with the hydrogen peroxide and water solution! Remember the warmer the better!

If the puss comes out a green color then you should make you a doctors appt. ASAP. Because you could have MRSA. I'm not trying to scare you but your a teenager and do you go to a public school? If so then you could have got a strand of it. But they doctors will give you this medicine called Bactrim if the infection is farely bad and it really works.

What dont i count on this form..... just cuz im a guy helpin with a female problem lol i beilive bambie was confirming my "diagnosis" and i get no credit o.O XD XD XD anyways thanks bambie for the treatment option i knew it had to do with epsom salt but i wasnt sure the exact procedure,.
alee,
yea like teenmom said wait for signs of infection before freakin out too much. if you do think you have an infection go to the doctor and request that a culture AND SENSITIVITY test is done on the pus. this will ensure that the correct type and strength if antibiotics are used. this minnimises the chances of that bacteria building resistance against antibiotics and becoming a superbug like Methylcillin Resistan Staphylococcus Aureus. (MRSA).
good luck 8)

CREDIT!!!!!! The proof is in the timing buddy!!!!! ;-) XD
What I want this young lady to watch out for IS the beginnings of infection! Your vagina is a very thin membrane over a lot of muscles! And what happens is if there is an infection in the vagina it WILL pass into the blood stream immediately! And this is BAD!!! I had this when I was 12 weeks pregnant with my 1st and had to have emergency surgery! It was TERRIBLE and mine was the size of a grapefruit! Awful time! So just watch it OK? Good luck honey! Also when the liquid comes out if it is basically blood and clear fluid you will be fine, if it's puss - I can guarantee you that there will be more and thus seeing a doctor! What is trapped in there is blood and vaginal secretions the big thing is to make sure those trapped liquids don't fester! It's gross but keep an eye on it OK? Also take a mirror and see if you can see it! IF it has a head that will be easier for you!
