A few days ago I cut myself while shaving my vagina and got bad razor burn. The razor burn kept itching so I would rub and scratch the area a lot. Now I have noticed red bumps on my labia. My labia are also swollen and sitting/walking are a little uncomfortable. I do have some discharge but I'm also about to start my period.

I have also seen a gyno. in the past month and everything was normal. Although, I began to start taking birth control. So I don't know if that could be a cause.

I'm not sexually active. So I don't think it's an STD but I'm still worried. Please help!?

Hi hon, it seems to be razor burn today on here!!!!! ;-) XD Your the 3rd post I've answered - must be that's it's summer LOL! Anyway, no worries. Your labia is a VERY sensitive area, and when you rub or scratch it, it can get infected really quickly. So here's what to do regarding the ENTIRE area. 1st use only non scented cleansers - such as physioderm or spectrogel on the area. The every time you go to the bathroom use a squirt bottle, with 2 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide and the rest WARM water. rinse the area and pat it with toilet paper or a towl and then let air dry. Use cottone underwear, and loose clothing. Where it is swollen or red you can put an ice pack on - as long as there is fabric between it and you. And you can put polysporin on it too. It should go away soon.

NOW IF the discharge is from an infection - such as yeast infection, you still follow the above instructions, but you also need some yeast infection medication - such as monistat there are 3, 5 and 7 day's it really depends on the type of discharge you are having. If it starts to smell fishy, then DEFINITELY the 7 day pack, and follow it all the way till the end even if you have healed. Yeast ALWAYS comes back if you let it. Good luck and hope this helps you relax. And next time don't get so close!!!! and use a gel too soften up the area 1st ;-) XD o.O
