I have had Lupus for over 2 years now and last year after my baby I was put on Plaquenil. Since then I have lost a lot of weight... more than I thought I could. So I think depending on your Lupus, medication and possibly something else you could have (on top of Lupus) will affect your gain or loss in weight. When I was on Prednisone, I gained weight-more puffiness. Its never a win win situation!

First of all I know how terrible is to fight such disease because my sister has been diagnosed with Lupus 5 years ago and she is always fighting its symptoms. She is very outgoing person and unfortunately the hardest and the worst side effect of this condition is pain in her joints. Sometimes she can’t even get up from the bed because her joints are disaster.
She has lost a lot of weight as well and she is fighting to get back few pounds but the doctor has informed her that medications will prevent her in this so basically she is trying to manage and live with Lupus the best she can. I advise you the same thing.
