Hi, good people. My friend was diagnosed with lupus several years ago. She had some complications, so she had to go to surgery .Ever since the surgery, she has been experiencing some weight loss. I was wondering if this can be caused by this operation. Can anyone answer me this question?

Hi. In some cases, surgery is necessary for lupus patients. It is usually required when some complication is serious. Usually kidney problems lead to operation. Weight loss is possible due to the disease itself. It doesn’t have to mean that surgery induced this. This weight loss is usually accompanied by fatigue. Your friend should consult her specialists for this. Maybe some help of nutritionist will be required. Bye!
