Hello. I'm 22 year old female and I would like to find some information about some male secretions.
Just recently I have noticed that my boyfriend has some white substance on the tip of his penis. When I saw it I was very frightened because it made me thinking about possible sexually transmitted disease but my boyfriend told me it is completely normal.
I'm not sure he’s telling me the truth.
I have never heard that males can produce any secretes other then sperm. Please tell me- is my boyfriend telling me the truth about this or should I be worried?

Hi. I will tell you immediately what I know about this! Your boyfriend was telling the whole truth. I have read in several articles and I'm sure about one fact- there are these tiny glands in the penis that secrete a cheese like substance called smegma.
It has several functions such as lubricant, pheromone and perhaps bacteriostatic. Although this looks kind of unpleasant and ugly- it is completely normal.
There's no way to reduce the amount of secretion, but the buildup can be easily prevented. Your boyfriend should clean this area several times a day just with hot water and some soap.

Males produce a substance that collects, and if not cleaned off regularly, can become smelly and offensive. It is most commonly noticed in an un-circumcised man, and so care must be taken to clean under the foreskin.
It is most likely that is what your bf was talking about. But, I would talk with him again openly to ask him what this was. It sounds like he's trying to be honest.

First of all this is perfectly normal, there can be a secretion from the penis which is different from the sperm secretion, the secretion which is in question is nothing more than just lubricant, so one need not worry about and raise doubts of any STD. Care must be taken that sperm ejaculation doesnt happen when it is inside, dont worry about this lubricant secretion. Morever one doesnt have any control over this lubricant's secretion unlike sperm which one can control and hold.

The secretion is perfectly normal and happens for the most part when the man is excited. Normally it is a clear secreation but it can look milky if not cleaned regurlarly. He should clean himself at least an hour before contemplating sex. Uncircomsized men should clean under the skin often.
I suspect circumsized men have the same secretions but the rubing on the underwear wipes it off.
