During a face lift the mandibular branch nerve was bruised causing the left side of my mouth to not move. I asked the surgeon if the nerve was cut and he said it wasn't. When I talk or smile my mouth moves to the right. The surgery was on 6/3/08. It has improved a little since the surgery but is still noticable. Will this improve completly and if so how long does it take? How will I know if this damage is permanent?
