MARIJUANA WITHDRAWAL AFTER 40YEARS

Loading...

Many times I have attempted to withdraw from Marijuana use for an extended period of time even though I had no negative effects   after using for such a long time. I needed assistance and I chose to write a diary of my daily feelings and thoughts for 60 days. This activity was the motivator that enabled me to accomplish my withdrawal desire. After that experience I returned to my daily use of Marijuana with a declaration to myself that if any negative reactions occurred I would quit using.

A year later I noticed three reactions that may not be considered serious but enough to make me withdraw again. They were a need to blow my nose when eating or right after; the coughing up small amounts of phlegm every day; and a change in my breathing when climbing stairs. After a couple of months the blowing of my nose and the phlegm reactions were gone and there was improvement in my stair climbing. I did not return to smoking M.

However my problem as of today is getting the amount of sleep that I believe is necessary to maintain good health. I generally sleep only 2-3 hours and awaken feeling good but not able to sleep any more. I am a very active gym member exercising every day. Six months ago I had a unicompartmental knee replacement (bone-to-bone no-cartilage) which is wonderful only I limped for too long (six years) so my walking muscles are taking lots of time and exercise to return to normal.

I have tried all of the over-the-counter sleeping medications with absolutely no improvement. I am writing this information because I am about to try preparing butter from Marijuana, often called cannabutter. However I have no experience in the preparation or use of this oral application. I believe that this M-butter will improve my sleep.

Any information as to the success of such a procedure and/or the details of preparation will be appreciated. PS my age is 80!

Hey hey Oeloeloel,

80years old?? How long were you smoking for? Out of interest, were you smoking in the 1960's & 70's? If you were, I'd be interested in your opinions on how you think the grade of marijuana has changed over the years.

I usually lecture people on here about cannabis use, but I honestly don't think it's appropriate here, so I'll skip right in to trying to help you. MJ butter- the best bet would be to add finely ground leaves at the stage of the heating process of the butter. It's the heat that releases the THC. Alternatively, you can cook with it- a stew, cakes, almost anything that requires some heating time. Add it like you would herbs. You can also make tea, although don't use a lot of marijuana- just the same amount as you would in a spliff and if possible, mix it with tea-leaves (otherwise you'll end using too much MJ and having one knockout cup of tea!).

There are other natural ways to encourage sleep- if you want some info on them, please message me and I'll help all I can.

Good luck & I hope you get some decent sleep soon.

Of course the grade of M has increased since the 1960's but daily use conditions the reactions to notice but not feel the true increase as fully as an intermittent user.
