Hi, can you also tell me if it makes the scars look more darker before healing. Because, my scar is getting darker day by day after I started using mederma.

Hey, I've only used mederma for about 3 days so far on a new scar. I use it only once daily and had no itching for the first 2 days and can already see some improvement. but on the third day it started itching like crazy. I think this is because I put too much on it today (more than usual). I even took a wet paper towel and washed off the extra and it immediately felt better. It still works so i will continue to use it. Just be careful not to put too much on.

Me too! My scars are my breast never itched before I started using Maderma. I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. It is sooooo itchy!

I experienced an itchy feeling too when I was using Mederma. I had gotten bit in the face by a dog. It only caused bruises on my cheeks but there was a flap on my nose that was peeled up from the bite. My mom put a butterfly bandage on it and I had it on for about a week or two to heal back up and then started using mederma to get rid of the scar which now is a little bump that looks like a moon. This happened about 2 or 3 years ago and ever since I used mederma I have had itchy/dry flakes on my nose. Like my skin is flaking. It's always there and I have never had it in my life until I used Mederma. I don't know if this was an allergic reaction or a side effect?? Has anyone experienced this or know how to treat it? If not I guess I'll just have to visit a dermatologist at some point.

I have the same scar in my breasts and I'm experiencing the same terrible itchy situation, I was wondering if I have an allergic reaction, Never itch before I start to use MEDERMA GEL. I when to the pharmacist and didn't give me any answer, I'm thinking to stop using it and returned.
Anybody thinks that is normal?????

Wash the area to b treated with mild cleanser and then use the toner and moisturiser (in case of face) I use aloe Vera gel as the moisturiser . Let it stay for 10 minutes and then apply mederma. The itching means the skin is healing. Try not to scratch. By following this regime the itching would b light.

Hello. The itching is normal. It's a part of healing. You have to find a way to place the mederma over the skin once showered and when you are able to lay or sit still and let the mederma work. Studies show when you rub mederma and cover the area with an article of clothing, it may trigger the itching right away.
Hope this helps!

If you bought it at WalMart, they will give you a refund. Had the same thing happen, and I did that with no problem.
