Menapause bleeding after one year of no periods.

I am 57 years of age and have not had a menstrual period for one year. I have been ongoing hot flashes (sometimes 5 to 7 in one day), but they have recently subsided. For the past two days I have had some cramping and this morning I noticed light bleeding. Should I be concerned or is perfectly normal? I am not presently on any kind of hormone therapy and I really want to avoid that as long as possible.
