I had a leep cone biopsy on Oct. 11. I started what I thought was my period a week later -- but it was two weeks earlier than expected.

Now I am bleeding again. It seems like my period but for the month of Oct I bled for 13 days and starting Nov. 1 am bleeding again.

The doctor does not seem concerned. Is this normal after a leep?

Has anyone had that experience? A shortened period (mine went from a 5-day flow to a 2-day one) after a leep cone biopsy of the cervix? And mine is still only 2 days long, three months later...has anybody had their periods go back to normal after the cone biopsy? Inversely, has anybody had their period remain shorter permanently (that's what my gyn. predicts)? I am worried: thanks for any feedback!

In 2002 I had a cone biopsy. Previous to this procedure, my menstrals would come every six months and for 3 - 5 days. After the procedure was done, I started a normal cycle every 28 - 30 days for 3 days each.

Just two weeks ago, I had a LEEP procedure, and I started my period 1 1/2 weeks early and a lot heavier.

This is very normal for this to happen. SO No Worries. It is just frustrating and that is all. For the first few months or so, you won't know your own schedule, so keep some products on you at all times.

Good Luck to All !

I had a Leep performed in Dec and, when more cells were discovered, had a deeper one done in Feb.  The first period after each procedure was normal, but I didn't even have the one the last two months.  I am on contraceptives so I usually run like clockwork.  I even have all of the cramping, low back pain, bloating, etc but no bleeding.  I have taken several pregnancy tests and all negative.  Really starting to get concerned.  Has anyone else had no period?

I am 31 and haven't had a period for 5 years. I stopped having periods right after I had a LEAP procedure done. I have been tested to see if my hormone levels are good and they are perfect. The two OBGYN's I've been to don't know why I don't have periods anymore. Is this normal???

It is totally abnormal if you don't have period after the operation. It means that your cervix has closed after the operation and that's the answer of you not getting pregnant as the supremes can not reach the eg. Must see your Doctor asp

Hey, there!
I know this was over a year ago, but I had a cone leep done in March and now I am having the same issues. My periods are super irregular. Did you ever go to the doc? If so, what did they have to say? Thanks for your help!

That's not good. You can develop endometrial cancer by not having your menstral cycle for an extended period of time. I would talk to a doctor about that
