I am writing here with my experience because I visited this site while doing research for my procedure and found it to be VERY helpful.
So my case is very typical...two abnormal pap results, and a visit to my OBGYN who suggested a LEEP procedure. I was adviced to wait 2 months before moving forward with the LEEP.
The procedure itself was NOT "painful" for me and the needles really didn't hurt; less severe than a blood test.
The procedure itself was so fast, I was actually surprised when he said "all done". I found that the biopsy was a bit more uncomfortable than the actual procedure, in all honesty.
Because my experience was so smooth and a lot less severe than I expected, I was less careless than usual and ended up visiting the ER late one night, bleeding out very heavily (if it happens, you'll know...its red, healthy blood unlike the color of the discharge, which is dark brown). I was moving three weeks after my surgery and lifted a box for literally two seconds (not a good idea, even after three weeks).
It's 10 months since my LEEP and I am doing great! I had my first pap 4 months ago, which came back normal and my second just two days ago :-)
I hope u ladies who are nervous, will find this a little helpful :-) Good Luck and remember, AFTER the procedure is also very important for a faster healing process!
