my son has been on methadone 3 l/2 years....was up to 155 but gone down to 100 mg. daily.....health problems include provisional diagnosis of transverse myelitis...dragging leg/dropped foot....burning sensations in leg are very painful....can't get gp doctor to give any pain meds because of the methadone clinic....can't work...getting desperate and depressed....treated like junky at hospital.....just wants to be out of pain ....able to go back to work and have normal life....deal with getting off methadone down the line...any suggestions?......would a pain specialist see him likely?does being on methadone preclude any other pain medication??
