Hi , I am new to the board and four weeks past a new procedure for posterior lumbar fusion. I fell over two years ago causing disc herniation at l5-s1. My surgeon put a screw at the bottom of my spine, right near my butt, and four small incisions at the lower part of my back, two small incisions on each side. At this point I still have a little bit of pain in my left leg, which was always my worst. I also have been experiencing mood changes, crying, not wanting to get moving in the morning. I have been walking quite a bit and my doctor is releasing me to work as of October 3, 2006. My concern is that I still cannot sit for more than 25 minutes and my drive alone to work is 1 hour each way and I sit all day long. Has anyone had this type of surgery? If so, can you let me know how you are doing. I know the best thing for me is to get back to work but I am very fearful that by doing so by October 3, it may mess something up. I would appreciate any response possible. Thank you.
