I think they are using a pill cutter or knife. The site I found this on The forums on there are great. There are alot of really nice and helpful people on there. There is also a detailed thread about this form of tapering and the originator of the method. Good luck to you and hope to see you there.

Hi there, thanks for posting some insight on how to taper off suboxone effectively. Can you tell me a little bit more about this? I am curious about how to do it effectively without having to go to another forum and register and talk to people there. Can you give me some insight? Thanks!

The girl I know who is doing this was stuck at 1mg. for quite some time. This is her method. Take a 8mg. pill dissolve in 10ml. of water in an empty pill bottle. Every ml of solution would contain .8mg of suboxone. Use an oral syringe (like used for kids) an squirt it under your tongue and do like you would do your pill hold it for something like 10 mins. It is also recomended keeping your solution in the fridge. She was reducing every 10 days. She was having to do it fast. It is recomnended that you only go down when your body has adjusted to the new dose like every 2 weeks. The next time it was the same amount of water and 6mgs of sub. A reduction of .2mg. This isn't completely foolproof you may have some mild w/d when you first reduce. But it seems to be the way to do it. The w/d experienced doesn't seem to be anything that you couldn't distract your self from and definately easier than the way the drs. want us to do it. The theory is that the longer and slower the taper the easier it is.

That's interesting, the way you propose helping with a taper. How ahs that one worked out for you? Were you able to utterly get off suboxone doing that without any issue? I'd be interested to hear.
