After reading so many reviews in the past couple of weeks, I felt I needed to write one given my unusual experience. I had unprotected sex the first week of December, I took Plan B within 12hrs and felt completely fine. 4 days later I bled very heavily for 4 or 5 days, and figured I was safe. Then my period never came, took 2 pregnancy tests both were negative but I got so paranoid once I was a week late I went to the doctor and had a blood test, also negative, but with still no period and "pregnancy symptoms" I was still very concerned. FINALLY 11 days late I started my period. Plan B can definitely throw your system very out of whack, so moral of the story if you're anything like me try and relax!

Here is my scenario and question.

We had unprotected on my fertile day in December. So I took Plan B within 36 hours.

I had what I "thought" was my normal period, on time Jan 5th.  heavy and clotting...but normal.  Lasted a few days longer. Based on last period, my ovluation days were the 16-21.  We thought we were in the clear, so on the 24, 25, 28 we had sex.  On Feb 5th I didn't get my period.  I took a HPT the 6th and it was positive.  I've had pregnancy tests via blood that show low HCG based on my LMP but it is rising, slowly, but rising.

Could Plan B have really thrown my cycle off?  So when I thought my period was the 5th, it really wasnt'?

I have irregular periods to begin with - Maybe once or twice a year. My boyfriend and i had sex 2 weeks ago, and I took the pill about 36 hours later. The next day I started bleeding and havent stopped yet. And it is irritating, it will just be spotting and then heavy then spotting, etc. I feel like my whole body is out of whack. My temperature is off, I am tired, moody, dehydrated, my breast are tender, my skin is breaking out. This is horrible, but I am getting concerned since the bleeding seems to be getting worse.

I had sex the day after my period ended. The condom broke and I took plan b the day after, within 13 hours. I was a complete nervous wreck for 5 weeks because I did not get my period. I was worried sick! My period usually comes every 24 days, with ovulation happening right in the middle. The plan b pill is made to delay ovulation which made mine happen 3 weeks after the pill. I figured since my ovulation was late, my period would be late. My period was a week and a half late. I got it 3 weeks after ovulation. It was the worst month of my life because I couldn't stop thinking of what could happen. Plan b really does work but it really depends on when in your cycle you took it. Just don't stress yourself out about it because I did and it really affected some aspects of my life. You will be fine; just be careful.

I have the same problem right now. Did your cycle ever go back to normal? I'm really freaked out

Short answer, yes it can completely wreck havoc with your cycle/hormones. I wanted to share my experience because I have spent the last couple of weeks completely FREAKING out and reading these boards (and praying.) I am a 34 year old- I stopped breastfeeding at the end of November, and my period started after that. I have always (aside from when I was pregnant with both of my babes) been completely regular, and have always known when I am ovulating, which was great because we used the rhythm method for birth control. This was not the case from November on. This has caused me incredible anxiety- (coupled with the fact that we do not want to have a baby right now as ours is still a baby,) and led me to take out of pure stress, plan b, twice. Once in February when I thought we had sex near my possible ovulation window. My husband always pulls out, but that small chance of pre ejaculation was what scares me. So I took it, and the only side effect that I noticed was that my period came earlier than usual. In May, same situation. I had my period on May 1st, took the plan b on May 12th, because I thought I might have been ovulating and started my period on May 25th, a few days early. Around June 13th, after my husband and I had sex, I started cramping (like period cramps) and it never stopped, I started ovulation symptoms around that time and that was when I really started losing my mind...headaches, nausea, urge to pee and sore breasts started. I was positive that somehow I was pregnant. Then the raging lower back pain started. It was a nightmare- PMS or pregnant- that's all I could google... all night, every night... losing my marbles. I was supposed to start my period yesterday and we decided to bite the bullet and take the test...2 of them negative- it was a sigh of relief heard around the world. I called my doctor and she said that chances are that between the hormones and the stress, I would start later. This morning...the flood gates opened so to speak. I have high blood pressure so birth control pills have not been a good option for me (and clearly my body hates synthetic hormones,) so condoms it is for us for now! Good luck to you all.

just wanted an experience of mine to help ease your minds! (although it's not advisable to take two MAP in one week) I had unprotected sex a day right after my period ended (May 14), and I drank the pill the day after that. he didn't ejaculate or anything, but we just wanted to be safe. we ended up having sex again on the 18th with protection, but something happened to the condom so I took the pill a few hours after just to be sure again. he also didn't ejaculate, but it was nearer to my fertile window so I got scared. 5 days later, I thought it was weird that I got my period so early but it was more of like a side effect from the pills called withdrawal bleeding or something like that. I honestly got scared that it was implantation bleeding, but it later on got heavy. quite heavier than my normal period. it got lighter then eventually stopped after 5 days. some say to count your period from the time of your withdrawal bleeding while others never really commented on that, so I did both. I had my original schedule. I was supposed to have it on June 10. I also had my modified schedule, and it predicted that I should have it by the 25th. I was very paranoid so I took a HPT on June 17, and it was negative. I started spotting on the 20th/21st but I got paranoid still of course since my breasts were tender and all, but then finally, I got my period on the 23rd! it was heavy the first two days though, and now it seems lighter. quite shorter than my usual flow. my advice is to not worry too much. and if you're really planning to be sexually active, see a doctor and start getting on BC pills. O've decided to stop for the meantime since pregnancy scares are not funny, and they're not worth it at all. safe sex to all of you. don't rely on the morning after pill all the time!

Took plan B-worstvthing have ever done in my life. Had no symptoms until 6 days later bleed for six days. Then cramps set in. Have been getting worse since taking pill almost a month ago and i cant get away from this horrendous pain. Had ovarian cyst rupture five years ago and pain is same. wish i had never taken that stupid plan b pill. would rather deal with pregancy than this. it has completely ruined my life and scared i will never be able to have sex again for five years like last time. At breaking point now. Bloated with this banging pulsating pain. Plan b should be banned. Going to gynaecologist tomorrow who will no doubt tell me to wait and see. So over being a woman
