I took the morning after pill ( plan b one step) 38 hours after a bedroom mishap and this is what I have to say. Plan B has worried me more than calmed me. The side effects of this pill mimic the symptoms of early pregnancy. That's creul. I've had light spotting 1 day after taking the pill. I've been nauseous, had sore breasts, nipple discharge, abdominal pain, constipation, fatigue, back aches and body aches, the whole bit! It's been a week and I've felt like absolute c**p, not to mention I'm worried sick because I don't know if this is side effects or pregnancy symptoms!

I am having the exact same effect. I tool it in December 2013. I got a period quickly and thought I would be back on track. Its now May and I have only had a period in January and March. I am freaking out over this. I am in my 40's - FYI and never miss periods.

After taking the morning after pill (Plan B one step) in january, very unecessarily by the way, and since my next period in february I started experiencing bad cramping for almost 4 months now. I get contraction pain throughout the whole month, sometimes it's not that bad, other times it gets on my nerves... it is better than in february now but it's still very annoying EVERYDAY. Never had period issues, I never had severe pain until now. My checks, ultrasound etc, don't show anything bad but I still need to have more checks. My GP told me it could not be the pill and it is coincidential, I really don't think so, I never had this before the pill and I know my body... Could it me an hormonal imbalance? I am on the pill now... and like I said, it's a tad bit better now but I am very anxious hoping it is not endometriosis. What are your thoughts on this? Any similar experience?.

Im writing a review in regards to plan b because i spent the last 2 weeks freaking out and couldnt find any answers online to truly make me feel better. I took plan b a little more than 24 hours after having sex, my period was due around that time and plan b kind of gave it a jump start. I got my period within 2 days after taking it and it lasted like a normal cycle. The next month came and my period was late. When i hit 12 days late for my period i finally took a pregnancy test. The two weeks i was late for my period i was bloated, tired, and would get weird cramps in the morning..as well as stomach growling at night. I took two tests and they both came up negative. Plan b blasts you with so many hormones that sometimes it can delay you. After taking the pregnancy tests a day apart, i got my period the next day! Taking a test is really the only way of knowing if you are pregnant or not, but seeing it be negative definitely helps you relax so your period will come. Hope this helps anyone in a similar situation!

so it was my first time for taking plan b, 4 days after i took planb and i got my period. for this time it is now like normal period that i got, it is all fresh red blood. it continues to the second day. seddenly i got very heavy period and also got lage blood clot. is this consider normal? how long would this period end?

little extra question:

during the sex, the condom broke. the top part of the condom dissapear, i think it stick inside of my vagina. if has been 6 days and my "unnormal" period comes, i still could not feeling anything or pain because of the broken piece of the condom. should i do anything about it? like see the doctor? or it would naturally comes out of my vagina sense the vagina clears itself everyday?

plz can someone help me.. i almost cry everyday.. i dont know what to do. this is my first time and i am at the age 17.

I known this is very old but i took the plan b id say, three days after my period and then four days later I was on very very lightly then really heavy for two days, so strange as I always have a 30 day cycle! And it's usually just normal, Anyone got any ideas what's going on? also been very very emotional and shattered all the time! And my boobs are killing me (which never happens!)

Hi there!

What your experiencing seems pretty normal!! The plan B pill is a huge dosage of birth control in one. So your hormones are going to be crazy!!.... you'll be crying one second.. and crazy b***h the next. Your breasts are sore because the pill makes you feel like your pregnant...

-sore breasts

-vomiting -bowel movements could be different

-swelling body -emotional

-heavy (or light) bleeding - clotting in period

-no cramps ... or EXTREME CRAMPS

-AND MANY MORE (what we got through as women!!)

I cannot take birth control because I have a bladder condition.. so my boyfriend of 3+ years are very careful during sex.. However like most women I can be paranoid in the mess of sex, so when a condom breaks, or WHATEVER I turn to plan B (the morning after pill).. I have taken the pill 10+ times. and have experiences pretty much everything I think.

-sometimes you'll take it and everything will be normal. (whatever your normal is)

-sometimes I take it and I have a really light period and that's it!

- sometimes Ill have a light period and then once I think its over, I get bad cramps and have a really heavy period.

-and then theres what happened to me last night! I took the plan B pill a week ago, and got my period yesterday. last night I started having THE WORST CRAMPS EVER. my bowels were going crazy... and then I started puking A LOT. I was way to hot and then freezing. I ended up passing out. Once I got to bed I was shaking and really hot.. but felt cold. I was up all night crying and moaning from the cramps. (my poor boyfriend got no sleep either). I have Tylenol 3's with codeine Prescribed to me, so I took 1.

(If you have bad cramps see your dr. and he/she will help you find the best pain relief for your cramps)

SOOO as you can see your experiences with plan b can very but from what you've said that sounds normal to me. As a nurse I would just like to say use protection, whether its a condom and spermicide.. a depo shot, a birth control pill. ANYTHING, will make a huge difference! Plan B should not be used as a regular contraceptive because it is such a huge dose of birth control. Its not very good for your body in large amounts. Its also quiet expensive for a regular form of birth control, and its not always effective! ALSO I always take a pregnancy test after (just for my piece of mind). Because you can still have your period and get pregnant. But never panic. If you are really concerned. See your doctor! Everything is confidential, and the doctor can take a blood pregnancy test and so on.

I hope this helps :)

Goodluck!
