Hello I am a 39yr old female my menustration came a week early with a bright orange color, and about an hour later on my way to Church sharp pains started shooting down my side. and I noticed alot of answers states that it has something to do with an iron defeciency, and I am an anemia has been for years but never has had this problem and never had pain when my iron was low.I have a Dr.appt soon and will get it checked just to make sure,THANKS

There are certain medications that could cause this type of change in color of your period, usually the antibiotics. Are you taking any medication? Also, less likely, but also possible - certain foods can have some effect in changing the color of your bodily fluids, but I doubt that it would happen to this extent. Since there was also pain, I think you should visit your gynecologist to make sure everything is OK, especially if you don't take any medications that might have caused this change.
