Hey, just wanted to report in.
After seeing the doctor about my problem, and about 6 months of rest, I am proud to report that I made it back to the gym this week, and have been doing fine with no irregular shrinkage.
I have yet to test out my resistance to running in the cold, but in a heated gym everything is fine, and I have been exercising more than ever now. I highly reccomend you see a doctor with your problems, everything worked out fine for me, and Im looking at making up for missed time.

I was relieve to see someone else with this problem. I think perhaps it is because I just started working out substantially more than I used to. Today made me nearly panic, but the workout was intense. I'm going to see the doc for another issue and I'll ask him and post some info, if appopriate.

Good one! The answer is quite simple - it's your body being clever.
Your penis will actually shrink under various conditions - any form of exposure to cold, stress and exercise. It's all to do with your body channeling blood to where it's needed.

I was really glad to read this thread and to find out I am not alone with this. I am 38 and have suffered terribly with this for years. It affects my self esteem so badly that it rules my whole life. I think stressing about it now causes my penis and testicles to be in an almost permanent shrunken state. The only time I feel normal is when I wake in the morning and am warm enough that everything is as it should be. I am 6 inches when erect so whilst not big, I'm pretty normal but find the whole thing with the shrinking flacid penis and testicles really depressing. I had a condition called Verocele which was operated on when I was going through puberty which may or may not be having something to do with this now.
The bottom line though is that it now puts me off sex because when aroused my testicles all but take a hike, which even in front of my partner I find really embarassing. I don't do any sport any more because of showering. I was captain of the school football team and love sport but gave it up at 17 for that very reason! I don't take my kids swimming which I feel bad about. I don't like the beach. Like I say, it has become a real mental problem for me and I really think this has made me a miserable git for far too long.
So, sorry to go on but to cut a long boring moan short, what did your doc say UltraMarcus to sort the problem out for you? I'm sure I could be a changed man if I could finally get this monkey off my back.

He told me it was likley due to an inflamation. if you have not seen a doctor for this, again the BEST thing you could do would be to see one. he gave me an antibiotic, which has apparently worked.

I have the same problem, usually when doing push-ups, also running outside and playing football can do it. Push-ups seems to be the worst though, after working out my penis must be about an inch, maybe a bit less and my scrotum retracts too.
Also I've noticed that my foreskin closes up over the head of my penis quite tightly. I usually end up with just my foreskin showing. It must look really wierd, but it doesn't really bother me and doesn't hurt.
Two exes have seen me after working out and both commented on how small it was and that it looked a bit wierd, but it didn't seem to be a problem.
I'm pretty small anyway, but reading previous posts that doesn't seems to make a difference, either way I wouldn't worry about it guys. Unless there is pain I wouldn't say a doctor was required.

just go into the bathroom stall first and wake him up... haha idk im only 20 im average size when hard 7 1/2 more girthy though.. i use to have that problem in trakc but when we'd practice with the girls.. it didnt seem to go back in his garage.. it is becuase your body is pumpin blood n oxygen to your legs and arms.. due to movement just wait a bit before you shower i guess cuase idk when i did football i wore a girdle it aint due to the heat.. its due to the running

This very problem has plagued me for years as well and it was until reading this thread that I actually thought I was alone on this one! I have been too embarrassed to see a doctor about the issue and have almost gotten used to it in a way, although it makes public showering about impossible for me. I can feel things down there seemingly constantly fluctuating in size or moving around... very odd but I'm relieved to hear others are experiencing it as well.

Below are several things to try and explanation about them.
It may help to do stretching after working out to help with the muscle inflamation. I know it seems counter intuitive from a penis perspective, but cold water helps with inflamation of muscles. Your penus may stay shrunk and hurt with the cold water, but if inflamation is the problem then you should work on the inflamation. Omega-3's are a natural anti inflamatory. So if you are having inflamation problems you might want to look at your diet and stop eating things that help put your body into an inflamed state above what the exercise is going to do. Inflamation is one of the largest problems in the human system today (in America at least) mostly due to our diet. I would recommend taking omega-3 supplementation and see if that helps. I would recommend fish oil instead of something like flax since your body doesn't have to convert the ALA to DHA and EPA. You want something that is high in DHA and EPA not something that is mostly ALA. Cod is supposed to be one of the best fish oils. Make sure though it is good quality so it doesn't have the mercury contamination. You get a good amount of omega 6's (natural inflamatory) when you eat things like processed foods and fried food. You may want to avoid those types of foods. Many of you have said this is a sudden onset. It may actually be after years of bad diet. You may want to look at your diet to see what can change to help put your body into a more balanced state. Inflamation is really bad in your veins and arteries since it is really the leading cause of heart attacks and stroke. Yes colesterol is bad, but if you don't have the inflamation it isn't going to be needed to stick to your arterial walls due to damage caused by inflamation. If you body is constantly in an inflamed state you also are a breeding ground for infection. Your diet plays a huge role in your health.
In additional stress can cause inflamation because of the body response to the stress and can cause arteries to contract. So after an exercise that is hard on the body you may want to do the stretching and maybe some good deep breathing to help your body to relax. Don't be so nervous as well. Men especially need to get more relaxed about being naked. The nerves are definitely a contributing factor. Spend more time naked and get used to it.
Has anyone tried not wearing underwear while exercising, or if possible doing the exercise without clothes on? Another possibility is using a strap or a ring around your penis and testicles so as to force them to stay out. You may also want to give your body a break from restrictive clothing. Do you sleep with tight clothes on? How about sleeping without clothes on. Let your penis and testicles get some time to relax.

Have you ever been so angry with someone or just came back from a fight/traumatic experience and went to the toilet, just to find your penis has shrunk?
What happens is adrenaline shuts down the arterial flow to your penis and testicles and drains the spongey tissue within your penis. This is not serious at all and is nothing to worry about, you may also notice your pupils dilated, obviouslly your heart will be pounding and you may also notice your hands shaking. This is your "fight or flight" response and is normal after stress or working out.
