Ok I am glad to see some of u have had good experiences with your hemherroidectomy so not all doom n gloom. I am 23 have 3 kids n suffered hems for 5 yrs but ignored them up until now as they prolapsed to a grade 4 status or however these drs use terms lol...I had mine 14/11/14.. went to day surgery got prepared into one of the hospitals sexy gowns and clot socks lol! Then off to have general anastetic inserted.... all hunky dory by this point flat out then next thing I know I am awake staring at a bearded nurse talking to me about my kids to keep me awake... delightful lol. No really he was kind to me. Surgery took 20 mins I came round after 40 mins after surgery so all in all one hour. Local anastetic still in system by this point I thought I was invincible I could walk like john wayne and I demanded my ham sandwich too!... anyway moving on.... today.... im in agony!!! Feeling swollen down below feels like... lumpy (hopefully due to swelling).... had a bath and a sitz bath ice pack ibuprofen paracetamol movacol and a ducolax..... sounds gross if I pass wind... its a bit painful im bleeding a bit and im sore and aching... this will be day two for me.... I havent had a bm yet is it normal and ok??? I feel I want to however physically nothin happens and hell no am I gonna sit n strain! Today I am struggling to walk as well sitting down.... ah ah noooope... kills.... layin on my side is ok or on my stomach. Just wondering how soon people had their first bms? I worry about it cos I know itll really hurt!! How painful would u say it is? And also any tips on recovery would be amazing!!!!
