My baby was born prematurely (5 wks) and required surgery on her first day for gastroschisis. She is now on morphine (day 3) and I am very worried about the consequences. Does anyone know of any alternatives it seems such a strong drug for such a tiny baby 4 lbs. 4 oz. Thanks you so much! Feeling scared for my baby! I heard it can create mental delays in developmental... even affecting them at school age. I certainly appreciate any wisdom from someone who has researched and found alternatives. I can't seem to find anything!
