had my first coil for 5 years then another one put straight back in, was told it could be there for 7 years due to my age and by the time 7 years had passed id have gone through the menopause, i had some bleeding and went to my gp to whilch she referred me to have a biopsy, in the meantime my coil couldnt be located, so was referred for scans and had xray which detected the coil had lodged in my womb, last week i had magic eye in my womb, was told nothing sinister, there, and then my coil was located and was a nightmare to remove, and so painful, now im bleeding a lot, dont know why because ive gone through menopause, should i be worried

Hi Lady Lily,
Have they checked you for any infection left over in your uterus from the coil being implanted(?) there?
Also, I'm sorry but they did remove it? If so, it would be normal to experience bleeding as you would from any surgical site afterwards whether you went through menopause or not. You can still bleed from there even though.
Your doctor is aware of the bleeding?
Hope this helps.

Your doctor is aware of the bleeding? I didn't see that answer.
I think only a doctor would be able to tell you if you are going through early menopause. It's difficult to say what would be happening and one of my best guesses would be that your body needs to get used to everything, ovulating, releasing eggs, hormones, etc.
After such a long time difficult to say for a poster. My body always rejected any type of IUD or birth control that needed to be inserted, so for me I don't have the same experience.
Hope you can get to the bottom of this and soon
