I am a 17 year old girl - still currently a virgin. I have masturbated, well tried. But every time i do - i feel no arousal at all and i seem to have difficulty finding my clitoris. Like i cannot find it at all and im worried i may be born without one or maybe it is possible to be born numb to pleasure such as masturbation?

Hi Baka

There is, of course, the possibility to be “born without one” or “born numb to pleasure such as masturbation”. People are born with different abnormalities and disabilities, and sadly some have suffered accidents or abuse that has caused them those conditions. But from the little you have said, I would not jump to that conclusion. You haven’t said where you come from or anything about your background, but often these conditions are picked up by the medical profession early on.

There are two things here [1] the situation of your clitoris and [2] the sensitivity of your clitoris.

[1] The Situation of your Clitoris.

Look for it, or get someone you trust implicitly to look for you. You will need to use a hand-mirror, or take a picture.

If you hold your labia majora (outer lips) apart, you should see your labia minora (small lips -the inner ones), part of your clitoris (glans and hood), your urinary meatus (urethra opening) and your vaginal orifice (opening) as seen in this picture:

If you spread your legs while lying down and use a hand mirror, you view might be something like this:

Your clitoris is located at the front of your vulva, where the labia minora meet. The visible portion of the clitoris is the clitoral glans. Typically, the clitoral glans is roughly the size and shape of a pea, although it can be significantly larger or smaller. Yours may be small, but your clitoral glans is highly sensitive, containing as many nerve endings as the male's the glans penis. The point where your labia minora attach to the clitoris is called the frenulum clitoridis. A prepuce, the clitoral hood, normally covers and protects the clitoris, however those who have a particularly large clitoris or small prepuce, their clitoris may be always partially or wholly exposed. Your clitoral hood is equivalent to the male foreskin. Often the clitoral hood is only partially hidden inside the pudendal cleft, but sometimes it is completely hidden, as yours may be. Your clitoris is actually a large structure and extends way into your body, as the following diagrams indicate:

So take a look. I feel confident you will find it

[2] The Sensitivity of your Clitoris.

Once you have found it, use some saliva on your finger and gently caress around and on it, finding out what parts feel best and what pressure is best. Further help on this can then be given.

This is just to get going, but it is important to find it first, and then we can go  from there.

I hope it helps as a start,
