Lately I just haven't had a lot of energy at practice. I don't know why, because I usually get to bed at a decent time. Anyone have any Ideas? Thanks.

If practice is later in the afternoon after school and you don't have enough breakfast and lunch, you may just not have enough fuel.

I just read your post in Training Tales. Doing speedwork in 95 degree heat will also sap your energy. Has it been that hot for a while?

Hey: what's a running related question doing in here ?
PS I agree: you need fuel and you definetly will not get any worthwhile training in 95 degree heat.

it's a good post, thoughI'll give it a 3 outta 10. Good on intention and subject, but lacking in background information and situational data that would help draw some conclusions. All in all, decent start out of the blocks, but tripped at the first hurdle. :P

Dehydration is possibly an issue and possibly a lack of protein.

heat drains the energy out of you
watch your diet too; no junk food. sorry. if you put c**p in, you'll get a c**p performance. try dropping the refined and simple sugars from your diet and eating more lean protein and complex carbohydrates. don't skimp on calories, i'm saying to substitute any "empty" calories for ones that mean something.
let us know how you're doing.

Thanks guy's. That is all good advice. To answer Pug: No, it was only hot yesterday. Today it was in the mid 70's. I am going to take some healthy snacks to my locker, and I definetly need to drink more water.

Keep your body hydrated with water and juices you like. It will give you the constant energy at your workout.
