I never had this experience with this I was in love with this birthcontrol. but no man i am second guessing it. I have 4 boys and really dont want more with a partial hysterectomy., but my husband do. i scared maybe i should shitch back to pills cus they never gave me problems other that periods. but i only bleed for 2-4 days top. What did yall find out since it has been almost a year since ur situation .

hi, I am actually experiencing the same thing! I use to have very light 3-4 day periods too before i was on the implanon. Then i inserted about a year ago and all of a sudden i started spotting...and it stopped and today it's back on again but heavy. I have been reading a lot on it...and a majority of the people who have experienced this usually takes it out because it won't stop or it's really unpredictable. I am guessing we (at least me) are having the same fate. it worked so amazingly well too for the first year. ;/

hello :)

ive currently had the same problems with the implant, I'm on my 2nd one within 2years as my first one was put in... And everything was fine for 6 months then all sudden had constant heavy bleeding for 28days so had it took out then another one was put it...was fine for 6months but in December 2012 I had my first period in ages which lasted 3 weeks, then I didn't bleed for a month.. Now Ive started bleeding again but 4days later it started to seem I was coming off, I didn't bleed for a day now I'm back on again... Anyone to any anything that would stop the bleeding?

Hello. :) I got my implant October of 2011 and had my first period July 2012. when I first got the implant my doctor put me on a 3month dose of loestrin 24.. she told me the pills would help regulate me, and help my body adjust to the implant. I wad having crippling cramps and my period was more solid than liquid..if you ladies know what I mean. it was disgusting and painful. but, the three months of the pill fixed me right up. I'm still a little irregular, but it's definitely predictable give or take 2days. talk to your doctor about the possibility of taking a hormone supplement or the pill. good luck ladies. :)

I am completely late to the party but I'm currently experiencing the same thing. Nexplanon has been horrible for me so I'm having it out on Friday after almost a year on it. Basically these past three or so day I started having really random extremely heavy period with thick clotted blood and a lot of period cramp. I know there's no way I'm pregnant as I haven't been with anyone in over a year but it's a little unnerving as it stresses me out and makes me self-conscious. However, from what I've read on the internet this is a very normal side-effect of the implant it seems which is a relief but I'm probably having the coil fitted in instead as that seems safer and less prone to side effects.

Hi
I've had the implanon for four and a half years now (2011-2014 and 2014- present). I also have irregular spotting and heavy bleeding after about a year and a half. When it gets really heavy and lasts for a while I usually go to my obgyn. He gives me the pill form of the hormone and it's always stopped the bleeding. Doesn't even give me a high dose of the hormone but usually takes 3 weeks to stop after starting the pill form. Its also normal near the end of your 3 year mark to get heavy bleeding. I usually just change it to a new one by that point.

Hope this helps.

Hi, I have had my implant for around half a year now and all of a sudden starting from Jan 1 till now (Jan 3rd 2016) I have my periods, it all started with very bad nausea and stomach cramps and I'm worried that they will start again as I have not had them for quite some time.

I first had my implanon inserted march of 2013 I've been going about 6 months without bleeding & then 3 months bleeding this has been going on ever since. My mood is all over the place and I find I get tired a lot and massive headache . I would have taken it out and replaced it but its long term and it has done me so well. I get it taken out very soon so I may do an injection contraception that lasts 3 months. Its amazing when I go the 6 months without bleeding I usually have no problems but as soon as it starts its very heavy for the first month and then slowly decreases. So a little up and down but I can't complain as it has done its job!
