My daughter is now 27 years old. She got diabetes when she was 4 years old. She now has Osteoarthritis with it. At 27 she had both hips replaced 6 months apart from each other. Right now she is very discouraged with the quality of life she has. With both the illnesses she is tottally disabled. She is so frustrated right now she would much rather stop all medication and let the illness just take her. She is in constant pain and nausea. Always sick and doctors can't' find anything. She can't do the simplest tasks without paying for it at the end of the day. Some might be as simple as cleaning a room in the house, or drawing, baby sitting. they all put her down in pain at the end of the day. What type of life is this? what are others' doing about it ? what medicaitons are people on? She can't seem to get a doctor to help. Then, she looks fine and has a high, high threshold for pain, so doctors don't do much for her. Her sedrate has been as high as 50 before, and no pain meds are given, mind you, she doesn't want just pain meds, she wants a quality of life of some kind. Not just survival from one hour to the next day in and day out. I can't remember what the arthritis drugs she is on, but i know she has them. They don't give her the control and doctors won't listen. She is on Medicare now (disabilty) and state Medicaid for insurance. Do they just don't want to take the time because she is on this insurance?

P.S. If you think she is just feeling sorry for herself, then don't answer this post, we are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy beyond that, she is NOT. We just looking for answers, help, advice, what doctors? where to go for real help that will help her get some quality of life back, see, the problem is, if you call it a problem, she wants to live life! at least has some life! she is 27 and for the last 5 years, been too sick to persue anyting or lead a normal 27 year old life! She has tried to work, but ends up having to quit because she is sicker than a dog and employers don't like you taking as many sick days as she would need, no employer would .
