Hi! I was also using Oxytetracycline for over three months but my doctor discontinued them because I had no improvement. My acne were not “that” bad but I would burst real bad sometimes which would then take time to disappear. I was taking 250 mg at first, then he changed the dosage but to no avail and then he decided to stop.

I haven’t heard of any negative long-term effects but I do know that it could cause side effects like nausea or vomiting, abdominal cramps and itchiness but I haven’t heard of any organ damage.

I suppose your doctor knows what he’s doing. Have you seen any improvement since you have been using them?

i also use these tablets ,, ive been taking 1 twice daily since about september; i've seen a dramatic improvement to my skin , my acne was not even mild but sometimes it would flare up and made me feel extremely under-confident.
My doctor said the tablets would take up to at least 5-6 months to kick in and that i would have to take them for a further two years.

I Believe that these tablets work wonders ; They just may take a bit of time to work , but persist with it !

I am very surprised that people take these pills for acne. My dog has just been prescribed oxytetracycline for an upset stomach, ie vomiting and diarrhea. Yet this can be a side effect of the pill. !!!

These tablets have caused me severe depression which made me feel at rock bottom! I have never suffered from depression and do not have anything to feel depressed about but these tablets made me feel really bad. I was on the tablets for around six months and my doctor told me to continue with them even when i said i was not happy taking four tablets a day for such a long period. When the severe depression started i decided to stop the tablets.

I have heard these tablets cause severe depression and they are old cheap tablets and years ago there was talk about stopping making these tablets because they mess with your head!!!!
