Hello Mike,

Sorry to hear about your wife stressing you out.  Since you're a mechanic your pain in neck and left arm could be from getting into awkward positions while working.  You may have actually twisted a muscle and its sore.  A tensed muscle can also press against nerves cauing pain.  If you can take a long hot shower or better yet a tub soak this may help to relax those muscles and allow them to heal.  If you have a heating pad that works well too.  When you're working try to pay attention to certain positions that are awkward for you and try to stay away from them.  That will prevent pain in your neck and arm in the future.
