Hello, folks. I have recently noticed blood in my urine. I must admit that I don’t feel any pain. I know that this can be also known as painless hematuria. I would like to know if this can point toward a cancer. I am pretty frightened, so I would appreciate your honest opinion about this.

Hello. Hematuria which you can observe is also known as gross hematuria. The thing that this is painless does not have necessarily to mean that you have a cancer. Cancer does manifest with hematuria, but there is usually flunk pain associated. A mass can also be palpated. There are other causes for painless hematuria. Maybe you had some trauma which you are not aware. This can even appear after some strenuous exercise. Prostate cancer can also give this. In any case, you should visit a urologist for some further analysis. Only then you can be sure what you have.
