I want to know if peripheral neuropathy – vitamin b-12 connection exists. I ask this for my daughter who is 16 years old. She is living with anemia for 2 years now. It was caused by b12 vitamin deficiency. As if it was not enough for her, it seems that she is starting to develop peripheral neuropathy. Is there a link?

Doctors have determined that there is a clear connection between B12 vitamin deficiency on one side and peripheral neuropathy on the other. It is proven that B12 vitamin deficiency damages myelin layers that surround a nerve. This damage is disabling nerves and their normal function. Common symptoms that might appear in her are lack of coordination, misbalance, numbness in extremities etc.
