hello. My name is Gina and I am 41 years old. I got pregnant for the second time in my life and I didn't expect this to happen since I was sure that I am going through a menopause. but, it seems that my body decided to make a fun of me lol. I am not saying that I am not happy, I am. I won't regret because I am going to be an old mom and because age difference between my kids will be nearly 18 years. but the main problem is because I was already diagnosed with uterine prolapse. now, how to deal with it in the pregnancy? pessary for uterine prolapse in pregnancy? experience and opinion?

hi there Gina. I hope that you are doing fine. what did your doctor tell you about this issue?  I have to tell you that about this problem I have heard a couple of months ago. I was talking to my friend about uterine prolapse treatment and she mentioned this thing about pessary. that was the first time when I have heard of it. so, I don't have experience with it, but I have heard that some pregnancies went in a really good direction. I am honestly not sure would I be able to try it, but who knows. honestly, I didn't know that someone can actually go through this, that doctor can ask for a pessary that will be inserted into your vagina and fit under your cervix. somehow it freaks me out...

good day.
I was sure that this is something dangerous, so I really took my time to think about this and to consult with everyone who I can consult with. anyway, every doctor told me that same thing - the pessary holds the uterus in the correct position before it enlarges and becomes trapped in the vaginal canal. that is all the magic and all the wisdom. so, I said to myself that this is something that I really should try. so I did. and I never was sorry about this. if you are wondering can you get pregnant with this, the answer is positive - sure you can. but of course, before everything, consult your doctor, do some tests and analyses to see in which condition you and your fetus are. good luck. I had it!

I was reading a lot about it and I found the information that there are some successful pregnancies after uterine prolapse surgery. I think that I was reading that some lady had this surgery and doctors removed pessary after 20 weeks or even more. She never had babies before, so she was scared that she won't have them as well. And she got pregnant after a while, I think that she was more than 33 years. So, I think that this is something that gives all the ladies a hope because as you can see, everything is possible. Good luck!

Well, sometimes I do think that I have an example of so many things, but I really do since I am a lot in this story. My friend had it six months ago I think, and she was not that good physically after the surgery. But we all were there for her. After three months we all were able to see that she is getting much better and that she will be fine. Sure, I think that I don't need to tell you that she was at the beginning of the pregnancy. Now, she is doing OK and she is happy because she is over this.

Sure, but you really should think about some possible complications, that can happen for sure. For example, those complications resulting from prolapse of the uterus in pregnancy vary from minor cervical infection to spontaneous abortion. But that is not all, all of those complications also include preterm labor and maternal and fetal mortality as well as acute urinary retention and urinary tract infection, so as you can see, you need to be very careful about this. Also, you should know one simple fact, that presentation of uterine prolapse is a rare event in a pregnant woman. That actually means that it can be pre-existent or else manifest in the course of pregnancy. Pay attention to all details.

I understand that we need to mention those possible complications, but you should consult the doctor before listening to everyone. I mean, a doctor has its obligation to make this surgery safe, to make everything safe and I am sure that he wouldn't risk anyone's life. He will also tell everything that you need to know about the complications of the procedure and generally about the complications that can happen if you want to have a baby. I am sure that he wouldn't do anything like that knowing that you are not safe. I understand that this procedure is a little bit "heavy" to consider, but I am sure that he will let you know everything that you want to know.

There is no doubt about it - I do trust my doctor and I know that he will do everything for me. I know that he would not risk my life or anything similar. So, he called me today and he told me that I should come to see him soon, so we can have a conversation about this. I believe that everything will be OK and that I will be ok. I am reading your experience and I don't know what to think anymore. I am glad that you are here, willing to help me and that means a lot. For sure, I will share my experience with you when all this ends. I hope that it won't be a nightmare.
