I also took Plan B 15 hours after sex in the prescribed and got pregnant. In fact I had ectopic pregnancy and needed surgery.

I have good reason to suspect that the Plan B pill caused the pregnancy to be ectopic. A lot of other people have also observed that if Plan B fails, the pregnancy has much higher risk of being ectopic. Please keep this in mind!

My symptoms:
1. Took Plan B on Aug 1st
2. Started having spotty brownish bleeding on Aug 15th
3. Positive pregnancy test on Aug 21st
4. Sever pain and cramps. Including pain on one side of the abdomen on Aug 24th
5. Went to ER the same day and found it was ectopic pregnancy and underwent surgery to remove it

I would suggest that if you have taken Plan B and get any bleeding at all, take a pregnancy test and if it is positive, see a doctor. You may not need a surgery if ectopic pregnancy is detected early.

plan b worked fine for me.

i had sex on august 3rd and took the pill 13 hours later.
about 6 days after the pill i experienced the hormonal bleeding that is considered a period and is a natural cause of plan b, and with this bleeding comes the start of a new cycle. I have taken 4 home pregnancy tests and all came out negative.

i am not sure why in the states there are 2 pills you take at different times, but here in canada we take them at the same time.

signs that plan b that you took is working
is

the hormonal bleeding (which seems like a period) that should start a week or so after you have taken plan b.
obviously a negative test result, but it is good to always test more then once to be sure, do tests at least a week apart.

but even when a test is negative, some people can experience symptoms or so they say they do. Believe me, thinking you are pregnant can infact make you seem like you have all the symptoms when you may actually not!!

if you want to know for sure a blood test is always a way to know 100% for sure.

again if you throw up at all within the first few hours of taking plan b you should contact your health proffesional for a new pill because it may not have worked effectivley, or if anyone has taken other drugs within the few hours of taking plan b it might cause it to be less effective, and yet another reason that the plan b might not of worked was just how your body is, if your body is allergic to it in ANYWAY at all then it may reject the plan b.

every woman is different and their body is different as well. it may work for some people and may not work for some people.
the best solution to not getting pregnant is to take a steady Birth control or think about getting a IUD or another type of contraception.

For those of you that got pregnant while taking plan b chances are you were already pregnant before you took the pill. Condoms can leak without you knowing, have sex without a condom can lead to pregnancy even if the male doesnt ejaculate inside the vagina. There is a pre come inside the penis that contains a small amount of sperm. if any of that gets inside you, you can become pregnant. So unless you took the pill every time you had sex, it is possible for you to have gotten pregnant before the time you actually took it. The pill does work. I myself have used it more then once after having unprotected sex. A mistake didnt happen, he comed inside me on purpose and it was consensual. I took the pill the next morning and I was perfectly fine and no baby. I have taken the pill twice since then and still haven't gotten pregnant. So for those of you that did, it doesnt mean the pill doesnt work. They wouldnt sell it if it didnt, it just means your body was already preparing a baby before you took it. For some women conception happens very quickly. And if you took the pill after you had already conceived, it isnt going to work.

I agree, it's b******t. I took the pill 15 hrs, and they say you have up to 72 hrs after having sex, and i still got pregnant. it's expensive, and obvously is not very effective. I just found out today, too.

How long did it take to get the positive test? I'm in this exact same situation right now, took the plan b 6 days ago. It's driving me crazy

I have used Plan B for the past 7 or 8 years and have never had an issue with it.  I take both pills at once (not what the instructions read but what my Dr. informed me to do) as quickly as 30 minutes after and as far out as the 72 hours and I have not once ended up pregnant after it.  I have been pregnant twice before so I know I can conceive a child.  I will usually start bleeding about a week after I've taken the pills and I get fairly nauseous for the first few days after I have taken the Plan B.  I don't know what most of your situations are but I believe in Plan B 100% because it has always worked.

Why aren't any of you apparently using any form of preventative contraceptive?!
Plan B is intended for single time use in unusual circumstances. Not as birth control. Get yourselves real birth control. It's cheaper. Also, way less stressful.

I mean, I used plan b and I was just fine. If the people who aren't using condoms or anything are "pulling out", you can get pregnant off pre-cum. That's what happened to me. Everytime i used plan b i never got pregnant. It was random circumstance, where i did use a condom and he pulled out that i did.

i didn't get a possitive pregnancy test before or right after taking the plan b pill but i thought i was late by a couple days if i went from two week and than two more weeks when i was supose to have my period i thought, but in fact i think i was right on time cus it was on aug16th and than took plan b on aug 30 or 31st and than started bleeding on sep 16th, but it was normal for me other than the fact it only lasted less than 3 full days and my periods are usually at least 5 days min. now it issep 25th and i am having some lowwer back pain sorta like a uti, but i have that with all my pregnancys. Also my boobs are tender and have some side pain and stomach feels tender a little like my pregnancys all feel like. i had been gagging on cigs again but not constantly like my pregnancys. Now i have been pregnant medically known 8 times. 5 kids and inbetween all 5, 3 spontanously misscarriages. my last baby was born may 2012. Wat do you think? by the way i bleed with all of my pregnancys so all this is normal for me when i am pregnant. please any advice would be great!???? thanks:)

Pregnancy tests measure the amount of Hcg in your urine. Hcg is only produced when fertilization has occurred. Plan B does not contain Hcg so it can not mess with the results. So you tested positive probably because fertilization DID occur meaning sperm met with an egg and started growing and producing Hcg. This is conception. Plan B does not always prevent fertilization but it will prevent implantation meaning the pregnancy will not continue. People insist that plan B is not an abortion pill but I am now a believer that it is. I took 2 home pregnancy tests that were positive. I went to the clinic and they told me I was pregnant. The next day my period started so I went back to the Doctor. They said I was having a miscarriage and the Doctor told me the emergency contraception was doing what it was supposed to do. So in my case it did not prevent pregnancy, it interrupted it by preventing implantation. My "pregnancy' was considered a miscarriage.
