How long does it take for pregablin to work after initial dose?

What is the Pregablin being taken for? I take Prebalin for Neuropathic pain caused by a congenital spinal problem. I started taking Pregablin and it took about 2 weeks to really start working, however I was taking Gabapentin before which is a similar drug. I have had really good results taking Pregablin that far outway the benefits of high dose anti inflamatories and opiate pain killers.
