Hello,

my nephew was born prematurely and is currently in NCIU ward. At first all the news were good and he seemed to progress well, until two days ago when my wife’s sister called and said Jason has to go in for emergency surgery because of necrotizing enterocolitis. All info I read on this condition is really horrifying and I’m scared even at the thought that a preemie will have to have an ostomy and that part of his intestines are ruined forever. If anyone here knows, or has been in similar situation, could you please share your experience and the consequences of necrotizing enterocolitis in preemies?
