My daughter had a craniotomy aged 12. Her pituitary was completely removed and the area irradiated. She is now forty and has become pregnant following in vitro fertilisation. Ultrasound scans at 22 weeks show the foetus to be healthy.
Has anyone any experience of successfully managing a similar case to term and delivery?
Without a pituitary we understand she cannot produce Oxytosin and Prolactin. Is this a concern and are there any recommended treatments?

Hormone replacement therapy is standard practice following craniopharyngioma removal that involves the pituitary gland. Your daughter and fetus are apparently doing fine. You will be a grandparent soon. Congratulations.
