Hi honey! What you are referring to is called Primary Myelofibrosis, it is a cousin to Leukemia! Depending on the age of your brother there are many treatments available, such as chemotherapy, bone marrow transplants, and blood transfusions! He will be followed closely for his hemoglobin to be checked also his spleen! He could be put on Hydroxy Urea 500 - this REALLY helps with the hemoglobin! He should be taking Iron pills to help with his energy, and be seen at his local cancer and blood centre! Depending on the treatment the outlooks are VERY good for younger people! Blood cancers and their neighbours are the most treatable forms of cancers honey, so don't despair OK? I know this because my dad has it! So tell him to start eating healthier and to follow what the Hematologist states OK? I wish him and yourself HEALTH and good luck!
