Well, I guess it depends on the point of view. My father had this illness for 17 years before he passed away at the age of 72, and most of that time he tried and succeeded in leading an almost normal life, of course with the help of his family. At the moment, I know that things look ugly, but with medications, therapy, family, there is a way for him to continue with his old life.

I was diagnosed with Parkinson's at sge 49. My wife has been very loving and cariing which has kept the quality of life very good so far.
My greatest difficultyhas been with my doctors. I have not received adequate advice regarding treatments amd medications. I have to research many medications on my own and when I mention it to my nuerologist, he has never heard of them. It is important to find a nuerologist who is more than a MDS. I have found this out too late. My condition changes in unexpected ways frequently, and good medical advice is crucial. I hope I have been of help. Good luck!
