I'm only 12 years old and when I woke up this morning I had this terrible feeling in my stomach. It's the same pain when I pull a muscle in my leg, except in my stomach. I just woke up, I don't remember stretching or anything. This happened before and I think I recovered the day after, but why does this keep on happening? I have swimming practice today!! :((

I just left and stretched it gently until it stopped killing me, but it still kinda hurts right now :(   Oh well its not too bad but it really hurts when i use my abs to sit up or anything like that :[  %-)

I'm sorry to say this, but the symptoms you are all describing are those of an umbilical hernia. The sharp pain in the belly button is a tear at a point where your abdominal muscles are their weakest. The tear is allowing your intestines to poke through, and you might even feel a slight bulge there. This is why you feel nauseous after the pain. Try lying down on your back, which will allow your intestines to settle back down into your abdominal cavity. If the nausea and pain subside, then an umbilical hernia might be the issue. See a doctor right away before it gets worse. I had one of these, and it required surgery. It took several weeks to heal, but I've been able to engage in normal activity ever since. Just know that it won't get better on its own.

i had the same problem but now my pain has gone. It took i think 2 weeks. I went to my doctor and they said its just a pulled muscle. And it would go. But wen i breathed in and out it really hurt so then it got better. One thing worked with me was that i put ice on that area and it somehow worked.

Same thing. lay down flat on your back with your legs raised. Every hour or so stand up slowly and walk around for about 2 mins. Do this for about 2 days. If it doesn't help see your doctor
