This could be a number of things:
1. A drug reaction, it could be caused by sulfa drugs, antibiotics such as penicillin, tetracyclines, and phenytoin (a drug that prevents convulsions). Reactions typically appear as a red or purple, itchy rash, or hives.
2. Lichen Planus: A skin disease that looks purple, or reddish purple bumps on the skin, commonly with scales on top, but it generaly occurs in middle aged individuals, around the ankles, it could be linked to hepatitis c, and may be contagious. this is very rare, and is highly likely not to be the case
3. Psoriasis, extremely common. It occurs in many people (around 1% in USA population). It is usually caused by Hereditary factors. it looks like oval or circle red (salmon red) plaques (rash) with silver colored scales, it usually occurs on the top and bottom of the feet.
4: possibly some sort of spider or mite bites?
I hope this helped, maybe discuss theses with your doctor, good luck:|
