I have had a rapid heart rate for the last several months and my Dr. said I have a heart murmur (new) also high cholestrol. For the last 3 wks. I have been taking 10mg Lipitor and 25mg of Atenolol. On Thurs. I had to do alot of walking while golfing and after eating a large lunch I became very tired and had a severe frontal headache. This tiredness continued thur the next day but with only a slight headache. I did not take my meds last evening because I believe I am having side effects from the Alenolol. Also, I do not have high blood pressure. I am suppose to golf today in 90 degree temperature but I'm worried that I could be causing my heart to over work. Please advise. Thank you

You should never stop taking your medications without first consulting your doctor. The potential for rebound effect could exaserbate your condition.
I would certainly rest and take it easy rather than get out in the heat of the day and golf. Golf early in the morning or very late in the afternoon/evening when it is cooler.
By the way, the Alenolol is being prescribed not for high blood pressure but to make your heart work less hard to lessen the consequences of the heart murmur. I would definately not stop taking it.
