Ok, i have a rash on my arm that is really itchy, it looks like a hundred misquito bites and it is only on my right arm, not hand. I think i got it from working as i had worn gloves to cover my hands when cleaning my client's bathrooms so that would explain why i don't have the bumps on my hand and just from my wrist to a little past my forearm. so i was using a cleaning product i never used before, comet. also, their bathtub was covered in feces when i was cleaning it. i don't know if it was a reaction to the cleaning product or if it's caused by bacteria from whatever was in that bath tub. should i be worried. what do i do to treat these bumps? i used cortizone to stop the itch but it's really itchy. and i am worried about being infected with something.

Hello Help,

Yes, you should be concerned. Is there any reason that is preventing you from seeing your doctor to have your arm tested? Your skin is inflammed which is natural defense mechanism triggered by contaiminants whether they are harmful or harmless, only a doctor would be able to tell after running some tests.

If it's possible, could you wear PPE gowns with your gloves when cleaning?  In the hospital, we always wear PPE gowns and gloves that cover every inch of us when having to clean feces. Too many diseases get transmitted that way. You may want to be buy a bag of the gowns we wear in the hospital for future use. That way you can throw them away immediately after each use and not worry about bringing contaminants home with you. They are called isolation gowns (sterile) and you can get a box of 25 for $50. In the long run, it will save you money from having to see the doctor everytime you get a rash or something abnormal occurs and you won't be missing any work if you are forced to stay several days in the hospital. My neighbor got MRSA from trying to fix his septic tank and he almost died. He was in the hospital for over a week.
