Hello, folks. My neighbor has a son that was a good kid before. However, lately he has been showing some rebellious behavior and he has been skipping school. I have read somewhere that these could be symptoms of oppositional defiant disorder. Could this be true? I would really appreciate to hear your opinions.

Hi, there. I have read something about oppositional defiant disorder (ODD). You can suspect on ODD in certain times. Usually, symptoms are persistent and have lasted for 6 months. These symptoms have a lot of impact to family and school environment. There are some behaviors associated with ODD. Those would be: defiance, negativity, disobedience and hostility towards authorities. Does this sound familiar? I hope I’ve helped a little. Good luck!

Hi, everyone. I would agree with previous thread. ODD symptoms really affect family and school surroundings. This disorder can be associated with some other mental disorders. One of them is ADHD. These people are against all authorities. They are apposing to everything. Treatment can help, but one must be patient. Your neighbor should discuss about all these issues with an expert. I hope everything will be all right. Good luck!
