Just had uvula and tonsils removed about 5 days ago... just want to compare my experience. (had them removed for sleep apnea). I'm 28 years old and this just... well, this sucks
I can only eat things like jello and sorbet with minimal pain, and I know i'm not drinking as much as I should, but it hurts so much. I'm taking a 10 ml dose of liquid codeine (5mg / ml) every 4-6 hours or so, and oh gods, the oxycontin, the oxycontin is beautiful and wonderful, 10-20mg every 12 hours.
Just wanna know... did you ever have ear pain when swallowing?

When I swallow, I sometimes have trouble getting it all down... it's like a tiny bit remains in my throat or maybe higher up. Will I have to deal with that forever? I'm sure I can learn, but it could get annoying.
Any other things that could help eliminate the pain?
Anyone have advice for me on this anywhere? I'd love some!

I am 22 and i had my tonsils out 5 days ago on 27/9/12 and i am in so much pain.. I was give co codamol and voltiral an it was awful the voltiral gave me really bad stomach pains.. What i dont understand is i felt fine the 2nd day and 3rd day then come y.day on the 4th day i just went down hill really quick i havnt eaten or hardly drank a thing in days!!
