Hello! I am a person who has a question. This is probably a good place to do so. I want to ask about
recurrence of endometriosis after hysterectomy. What are the chances for recovery after a hysterectomy? Is someone here had experience like this? Maybe someone has an idea what is possible after this outcome? Thank you for your possible comment on this topic.

Hello,
Endometriosis is painful disorder in which tissue that lines the inside of uterus starts to overgrow and spread outside of uterus. It can spread to ovaries, bowels or pelvis. There are rare cases when tissue spreds even beyond pelvic region. Tissue that has spread outside of uterus continues to behave as if it still was inside uterus – it repeats breaking down and bleeding with each menstrual cycle which is very painful and dangerous because of possibility of infection. Hysterectomy definitely stops any further spreading of endometrial tissue by removing complete uterus, but the problem remains if the tissue had spread outside the uterus before hysterectomy.
