Hi. I have a problem with recurring optic neuritis. I live with the attacks of that inflammation for some 8 years. So far I had 4 attacks. I have also some bad headaches and my eyes hurt. I fear of a permanent visual loss. Not sure what to do – I take steroids, but the problem keeps coming back.

Hi. I also have a problem with recurring optic neuritis. When the first attack came they gave me steroids, but I`m allergic on them. I know that optic neuritis improves within a few weeks, or maybe months, but still… I had 5 attacks within 6 years. I fear that my allergy and optic neuritis will give me a multiple sclerosis (steroid drugs reduce the risk of developing MS). The treatment with intravenous steroid meds has only a little impact on vision, but is important for overall health.
