hello
i have a redish dry skin patch on the tip of my penis, i think it would be a staph infection but i dont know, i have been putting antibiotic ointment on it about twice a day and no improvement, also i started taking some anitbiotics from a friend (amoxacilan) and havent seen a real improvment and i have putting off a doctor appointment due to no ins.
it doesnt realy hurt but more is unsightly to a partner. it seems to be spreading but is still very small (about the size of a pencil eraser)
it turns a little scaly and dry and might get a little puffy during sex.
has anyone ever seen this befor or is there something i dont know i have......

well because i cant see what you have i cant offer much in terms of yea it probably is psoriasis or no probably not. even if there was a picture of your patch i wouldnt be able to deffinatly say a yes or no answer because skin disorders like that need to be diagnosed with a dermatologist and may require a skin biopsy for positive diagnosis. with that said, psoriasisi normally occurs on other areas of your body such as your scalp, torso arms legs so do you have any patches that look simmilar to the one on your penis anywhere else on your body? how long did you say you had this patch for and how old are you? has any of your family members had psoriasis?

unfortunatly there is no known cure for psoriasis but there are several available treatments... stress seems to make it worse and cause outbreaks and things like sunlight/UV light help make it disappear. a good friend of mine has it so i know a bit about it. the cases of psoriasis range from miniscule to severe with psoriasis over much of the body.
the good news is, while unsightly and at times annoying or irritating, psoriasis is nothing to worry about, it is not harmfull and it is not contagious.

i hope this helps some. i would still get it checked out by a doctor to try to find out exactly what it is but you should be fine 8) if you have any more questions or concerns just ask
thanks

any time thats why this forum is here....

as for answering the general questions in my last post... it deffinatly may help but overall i would still make an appointment with the doctor to get a deffinate diagnosis so then you can treat it and make sure it is nothing more serious (which it doesn't sound like it is but wouldnt hurt to be safe) 8)
