HI,

I am a 22 year old woman...usually quite healthy, except for the past few months...
I have an ovarian cyst on my left ovary... Last night, I had sex with my fiance, and I had a very very painful shooting pain in my pelvis, and cervix...it lasted for about 10 minutes, so painful to the point where I couldn't move, stand, or breath properly...
The pain went away, except today my abdomen is sensitive, and it feels like there is constant pressure on it...I also keep having bouts of dizziness, light-headedness, and clammy hands...
I've been getting the odd shooting pain if I sit weird....what is going on...I am getting worried ??..??

Thanks %-)

Hi,

Ovarian cysts are fairly common.

You could have ruptured the cyst during intercourse. This can cause extreme pain and discomfort. The problem is that if it did rupture it can get infected or you could hemorrhage. Since you know you have a cyst you should see your doctor ASAP. If you notice abnormal bleeding, especially bright red, then seek medical attention immediately.

They'll most likely perform an ultrasound of your abdomen.

Please see your doctor. Let us know how you are doing.

Good luck.
