Hi! I have vertigo witch is aggravated by loud noises, pressure. After some tests doctor claims that I have Semicircular Canal Dehiscence. He tells me something about this disease. I want know more about treatment. Can you tell something more about treatment?

Hi! There are conservative measures, and surgery. Conservative measures are benzodiazepines, vestibular physical therapy, avoiding triggering stimuli. Surgery is indicated when the fine cut temporal CT shows a clear dehiscence in two planes - orthogonal and parallel, also the VEMP clearly shows decreased thresholds. Most important is that there isn’t any medical contraindication to surgery. Do not think about surgery before you try other treatment. I wish you a best.
