so I scheduled my second surgery for another septoplast/turbinectomyand this time adenoidectomy. Last time- 5 years ago I had all that but just a tonsilectomy and no adenoidectomy. Since that surgery, Ifelt relief for about a year, then I began to get strep infections in my throat- which I have recently found out when I started going back to my ENT that they are not in my throat but in my nose- my adenoids keep getting strep and it travels from the back of my nose to the throat. I was out of commission for a good 5 weeks, returned to work and was still having to take pain meds occasionally. The packing didn't hurt at all ( I know that isn't normal) but I did have an episode on day two last time of throwing up blood.
I am ready to have this surgery next week, but reluctant to be on pain meds and sleeping in a chair for a few weeks, my questions are for people that have had this done, how bad is a t/t/a? i remember how much pain i was in last time, i ended up having to take 3 lortab 7.5mg every three hours, I would wake up on the dot of three hours and be screaming in pain and then out again in 15 min... I don't want to go thru that again. And any advice given will be greatly appriciated:)
Thanks!
